Robert H. Tessier
Senior Reimbursement Consultant
HBP Financial Services Group, Ltd.
Woodbridge, CT

Educated at Providence College with a degree in Political Science, Robert Tessier earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) in 1972 at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

After joining the Massachusetts firm, Professional Management Services, Bob became their Executive VP and Director of Consulting Services. In this capacity, his focus was negotiations, feasibility studies and recruitment of physicians to Academic Chairs.

As Reimbursement Consultant to a number of state societies, he was able to obtain favorable financial arrangements. The ‘70s were spent with Radiology groups and handling significant consulting assignments throughout the US. In 1982, he formed HBP Services.

Bob was introduced to Pathology at New York Hospital where he established the first private practice group in New York City. A consultation to Yale Pathology resulted in their becoming the first private practice group in Connecticut. This required complete third party negotiations leading to extensive work with Pathology groups throughout the state.

Bob’s current focus is the development of strategic alliances and planning for successful clients who have a 5+ year outlook. Joint ventures, hospital negotiations and the management of free-standing labs are other areas of his expertise.
