AUSTIN, Texas (July 16, 2013) — This fall, the clinical lab industry’s leaders in the use of Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 15189, and other process improvement methods will gather October 1-2, 2013 for the annual Lab Quality Confab and Performance Improvement Institute. The event will take place in historic New Orleans, at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel just steps from the famous French Quarter.

Now in its seventh year, Lab Quality Confab is the most widely attended meeting in the clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology industry, attracting attendees from countries all across the globe.

“Since its inception in 2007, Lab Quality Confab has grown exponentially in both size and reputation,” said Robert L. Michel, founder of Lab Quality Confab and Editor-In-Chief of The Dark Report. “It is the one lab industry meeting where clinical laboratory managers and pathologists come together—not only to share their successful process improvement methods,
insights, and innovations—but to also gather the most accurate and practical information about how to use these
performance improvement techniques in their laboratories.”

Noted Michel, “Lab Quality Confab is a unique forum of ideas and inspiration for experienced quality program managers. At the same time, this
one-of-a-kind conference is a valuable learning resource for beginners and any manager involved in workflow improvement projects.”

Today, it is a fact that lab budgets are shrinking with yet more cuts expected in 2014, and in response hospitals and health systems asking their laboratories to do more with less money. Few lab teams have the knowledge and resources they need to deal with this serious funding shortfall. That’s where Lab Quality Confab comes in—presenting the ideal opportunity for senior executives and administrators, managers, and quality team members to attend a range of sessions dedicated to a common goal: that of raising the quality of services in their laboratories, while also increasing productivity and decreasing costs.

Events slated for Lab Quality Confab 2013 include:

• More than 40 quality management educational and skill-building sessions

• Numerous certification workshops on Lean Six Sigma techniques, with certificates of completion for attendees

• Exceptional informational and networking opportunities, including an exhibition of consultants and quality vendors

Special Session back by popular demand: Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training and Certification
