Bios:

KATHLEEN A. MURPHY, PhD, President of Chi Solutions, Inc., has over twenty-five years of progressively responsible experience in management and consulting in laboratories and imaging centers. Dr. Murphy has been with Chi since 1994 and was promoted to President in 2005 after serving in various roles as Vice President over the management services and consulting divisions. As Chi’s senior executive, she provides oversight for the more complex operations and outreach consulting and management engagements. Dr. Murphy’s personal passion is helping hospitals compete and win against independent laboratories and imaging centers. She is a noted national speaker and author on the topics of operations improvement, outreach trends, and laboratory accreditation.


EARL C. BUCK, MT(ASCP), Vice President of Chi Solutions, Inc., has thirty-five years’ experience in the clinical laboratory industry, with particular emphasis on regional laboratory integration, creation of core laboratory operations, business development, and growth in regional markets. As Vice President, he provides executive oversight for client engagements to ensure the delivery of exceptional services to Chi’s clients. Mr. Buck is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, with application experience in both hospital and commercial laboratory settings. Additionally, he is a past President of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) and served on its Board of Directors for 12 years.
