AUSTIN, Texas (December 6, 2011) – A record crowd is expected when the 17th Annual Executive War College on Lab and Pathology Management takes place on May 1-2, 2012, in New Orleans, Louisiana. This high-energy conference is the largest gathering of clinical lab executives and pathologist business-leaders in theUnited States.
During 2012 and into 2013, the nation’s clinical laboratories and anatomic pathology groups will face more challenges than at any other time in the past two decades. Payers are preparing to require pre-authorization of expensive genetic and molecular diagnostic tests. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says it wants to regulate laboratory-developed tests (LDT). Congress is expected to significantly reduce reimbursement for medical laboratory tests.
All of these topics will be front and center at Executive War College 2012. Sessions are scheduled that will address:
- How clinical lab testing and pathology services will be used by new healthcare delivery models—like ACOs and Medical Homes—that require tighter integration of care.
- Ways that local laboratories can leverage health information exchanges (HIE) to deliver more value to physicians and help these labs expand market share in their service areas.
- Why code-stacked molecular test claims are under attack by payers, plus inside information on how new coverage guidelines will affect the way laboratories are paid for genetic tests and molecular assays.
- Exciting new technology and workflow breakthroughs that contribute to advanced automation and enhanced work flow in both clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories.
This year, the Executive War College hosts all-star speakers from across a broad spectrum of the clinical laboratory industry and the anatomic pathology profession. With laboratory administrators and pathologists attending from around the world, The Executive War College provides a superlative networking opportunity. It is why major lab industry corporations actively support this unique gathering, including corporations such as Siemens, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Atlas Medical, Sunquest Information Technologies, Xifin, Beckman Coulter, McKesson, and Emdeon.
The 17th Annual Executive War College will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans on May 1-2, 2012. For more information, visit the Executive War College website and the Dark Intelligence Group, DARK DAILY , and THE DARK REPORT websites.
