If you’re a fourth-year pathology resident or fellow, to get the best pathology job next spring, you must take action now. Wait until the winter and you could be too late to win plum employment or partner opportunities.
During your last year of residency or fellowship, it’s essential that your name, your talents, and your skills are put in front of prospective employers at the right time and in the right way. Remember, this spring you will be just one of 500 newly trained pathologists entering the job market and jostling for that perfect job. This surfeit of graduating pathologist means that employers are in the driver’s seat.
You want to find the perfect pathology job and we can help! To get the knowledge you need, join us for a never-before-offered webinar from PREP (Pathology Resident Education Program) “Finding the Perfect Pathology Position: What Every Resident Needs to Know about Today’s Job Market” that was held on October 14, 2010. PREP is a new program from THE DARK REPORT offering webinars that provide information on the business side of the profession to pathology residents and fellows who are transitioning from residency to practice.
Leading this information-packed session is Rich Cornell, President of Santé Consulting. He is recognized as one of the nation’s leading pathologist recruiters. Because he actively places pathologists with many of the nation’s top laboratory companies, pathology groups, and biotech firms, he knows what employers want in a young pathologist-along with the secrets to getting the best offer.
During this comprehensive session, you’ll learn how to find the best pathology positions. Employers range from private practice groups and independent laboratories to academic centers and biotech firms. All of these laboratories are eager to hire young pathologists and Cornell will help you understand the employment advantages and disadvantages of each of these business models.
You’ll also get detailed information about compensation and benefits during this session. Cornell will show you examples of first-year starting salaries and benefits in the various employment models and compare them to national and regional averages. Find out how bonus and incentive packages can impact your earnings along with useful tips to help you negotiate the best possible deal.
Cornell will also talk about the role of the professional physician recruiter in your job search. You’ll learn how to work with physician recruiters, including how to find one, the misconceptions about using a recruiter, and how using one could help you find the right pathology job.
This webinar is a simple, easy way for you and other residents in your program to get the essentials for a successful job search. Ask your pathology residency program to register for this session so it’s available to all fourth-year pathology residents and fellows at your academic center.
You’ve invested four to six years to complete your pathology residency and prepare to enter clinical practice. Now is the time to get that perfect job offer, and this webinar delivers the essential knowledge you need to do just that!
