Management Workshop Nomination Form

Advance for Medical Laboratory Professionals, Advance for Administrators of the Laboratory, and The Dark Report have entered into a collaboration to offer scholarships to each of the four Laboratory Managers Workshops. The goal is to help inspiring Laboratory Managers advance their skills & confidence thus allowing them to make ever important contributions at the Laboratory they service.

This award allows medical laboratories individuals to demonstrate their interest in learning. Individuals will be judged on measurable achievements in each of ten areas. A panel of judges will review all submissions to select the winner. At the time of their notification, winning individual will be asked to submit photographs according to an electronic standards format.

Deadlines for Scholarship Submissions by City:

Baltimore – October 8, 2010
San Francisco – October 11, 2010
Chicago – October 18, 2010
Miami – November 8, 2010

the winner will be notified by The Dark Report within one week of the event.

At least five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience in which clinical setting(s):(required)

Service on in-house and out-of-house committees in the past three (3) years, including multidisciplinary committees within a healthcare facility, community events, clinical laboratory organization or healthcare accreditation surveys, compliance activies.(required)
Continuing education participation in the past three (3) years, including advocacy/development of in-house continuing education program(required)
Books read on laboratories and management in the past two (2) years(required)
Contributions to teamwork in the organization, including inspiring integrity and professionalism, and what indicators show success has accrued departmentally or facility wide, including process-improvement activities(required)
Initiatives undertaken to advance the clinical laboratory profession, including customer service and contribution to patient care(required)
